Chemical Peels

There are several types of chemical peels including superficial, medium and deep peels, BluePeel/Obagi, MicroPeel, and MicroPeel Plus. Chemical peels are ideal for those who smoke, drink alcohol, or have sun damage. The peels will reduce the look of fine lines, acne scars, freckles, age spots, hyper-pigmentation, blotchy and uneven skin tone. A MicroPeel is a three-step process that removes a thin layer of the skin. Dermaplaning is the first step followed by the application of alpha hydroxy acids and accompanied by a carbon dioxide treatment to soothe the skin. The BluePeel/Obagi treatment is performed on the back, legs, hands, arms, chest, face, and neck. This procedure is ideal for those with damaged or aged skin that needs extra tightening. Chemical peels usually take 15 to 20 minutes, and results last up to three weeks. Those who have sensitive skin might feel a mild burning sensation during the peel. Within two to three days your skin will begin to peel and then heal within ten days.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning offers a milder exfoliation compared to chemical peels with no redness or peeling. It removes the top layer of the skin and unwanted facial hair. The dermaplaning process uses a surgical scalpel to shave away dead skin. The blade is sharp yet gentle enough to avoid cuts and nicks. It feels similar to running a credit card across the skin. Your skincare specialist will follow-up with either milk-derived lactic acid or glycolic acid to enhance exfoliation. The procedure is completed with cryogenic therapy. Carbon dioxide is applied in circular motions to reduce inflammation and provide comfort. The treatment is not painful, and the results are visible immediately. You’re required to wear sunscreen after dermaplaning as the skin is more sensitive to sun damage.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is one of the most commonly used non-surgical spa treatments in the U.S. with gentle exfoliation, it evens out the texture and appearance of the skin. Whiteheads are less prominent, blackheads are quickly released, enlarged pores disappear, and hyper-pigmentation lightens. During the treatment, blood and oxygen are drawn to the surface to repair and generate new healthy skin cells. Microdermabrasion is painless and uses micro crystals to exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin. It is safe on practically anyone and can be used on any part of the body. You’ll notice results immediately after treatment.
