We offer superficial, medium and deep peels, using MicroPeel, MicroPeel Plus, and BluePeel/Obagi. Exposure to the sun and habits such as poor diet, smoking and drinking all deplete the skin of its healthy glow. Chemical peels help reduce blotchy and uneven pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, age spots, and freckles.
MicroPeel
This treatment consists of a three-step process that removes a micro-thin layer of skin. First, Dermaplaining or a pure enzyme papaya based mask (for active acne) is used. Second, Alpha Hydroxy Acids are applied to the skin. Third, carbon dioxide is applied to soothe the skin if necessary. For patients with dry skin, this peel may also be used without Alpha Hydroxy Acids. This procedure is safe, effective and takes between 15 and 20 minutes. Five to six treatments are generally required.
MicroPeel Plus
A 15-minute office procedure using salicylic acid which smoothes fine lines and reduces discoloration while simultaneously reducing the appearance of acne scars and environmental damage. Used more commonly for corrective purposes, this treatment is recommended every 2 to 3 weeks.
BluePeel/Obagi
The Blue Peel can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, legs, and back. A low concentration of the chemical trichlororasetic acid (TCA) is mixed with a special Blue base to slow chemical penetration. This treatment effectively removes the thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin, thus allowing the skins tightness to resurface.
Application of the BluePeel takes about 20 minutes, depending on the number of coats the doctor has determined to use. Immediately following the procedure, a blush tint will remain on your skin that will wash off after 12 to 24 hours. Your skin’s appearance will continue to improve over the next 4 to 6 weeks.
Is it painful?
This is a quick and highly tolerable procedure that does not require sedation in most cases. You will experience a mild burning sensation that lasts 2 to 3 minutes (the doctor may use an electric fan to minimize the sensation).
Is there recovery time?
After the procedure, you will experience light swelling and your skin will begin to peel within 2 to 3 days. It should heal within 7 to 10 days. You may want to limit your normal activity. Makeup should only be applied after the skin is healed.

Can the results be maintained?
The Obagi Nu-Derm skin care system is an at home system designed to work safely in conjunction with the BluePeel. In most cases, one to three Blue Peels achieves dramatic results for the patient. Peels can be performed at 6 to 8 week intervals until the desired goal is reached.
